I am Derrick Payne. I have more than two decades serving as a Professor of Communication, combined with a wide range of international public speaking experiences and dedicated work at all levels of academia. This is added to my extensive work in Mass Media ranging from print and radio journalism to technical writing, cross-cultural communication, video production, and mediation services.

As a first-generation college student myself, I teach from the intersection of helping others tell their own stories while simultaneously making a difference in their communities.
